The Fall Guy

I’m free-falling from
five thousand feet,
flapping past birds.
A gleeful headlong
bounce off the high wire,
higher than Blondin,
faster than Bluebird,
freer than flyers,
crashing through forbidden fruit trees,
falling into desire,
harder and faster and longer and deeper,
falling for you and to you and into you
and my feet still haven’t hit
the ground.
