On a day like today

On a day like today,
what looks like bad news in the distance
turns out to be a greenfly in my fringe.
The plum orange berry bush outside the window
is repeatedly appreciated
as my phone dart board sprongs.
This morning I found a suitcase
side end on in the garage,
I flicked the fastenings and waited
well back, as six marbles
eye galled out like life lies.
I found a dolls head in front of the fridge.
I think it might be the cleaver
slabbing on a hook beside the butter,
it bloody smiled at me and I palm slapped the ray burn.
We are now not speaking.
Something in the way heat stings
makes me reconsider my mouth movements
my lips are treadmills, and my feet
spit, keep slipping
on sense.
