X Great Reasons for Not Being Rich or Famous

(and listing them so we, the ‘unrich and unfamous’ will feel better)

1) It won’t be practically impossible to get into heaven (camel and eye of the needle).

2) You can walk in the mall or on a street and you don’t get mobbed.

3) Your close relatives and immediate family aren’t waiting in secret joy for you to kick the bucket.

4) You might get swindled but it won’t be on any grand scale.

5) People aren’t so quick to try to sue you.

6) You perhaps appreciate your little acquisitions such as CD players, a new mattress or TV, new fridge, etc. more.

7) You surely laugh more.

8) You’re asked for a donation to whatever cause less often.

9) You’re probably employed so at quitting time you can leave your troubles at the office, etc.

10) You know your wife didn’t marry you for your money or that she doesn’t stay with you for it.

11) You have a dream or illusion such as a goal and work toward achieving it. If, for some reason, you never achieve it, at least you had the pleasure of ‘tasting’ its achievement in your mind and had the joy of working for it.

12) You have, by far, fewer ‘toys’ such as 3 or 4 cars, houses, boats or a yacht, expensive watches and jewelry, insurance policies, etc. to fret over (especially dealing with the anxiety that someone will take something from you).

13) You don’t have to have those ubiquitous bodyguards always breathing down your neck! I think the rich can hardly go to the toilet without them.

14) You have far less temptation to undergo the pain and discomfort of cosmetic surgery every now and then.
