from hearts in darkest Africa
POSH cabins and quoits
flame trees beckoning
or
ragged pages,flimsies,tucked into serge
in trenches or jeeps
bases or hospitals
stained with
mud and nicotine

All we have now is hotmail
which can't be felt in pockets
slipped inside shirts or under pillows
re read by sunset
leaning on the rail
I still message though
something funny happened today darling
and there are frogs in the pond.
