The Year of Seduction

Will you lie with me in the Spring
When the world wakes from its slumber
And the thoughts of nature turn to loving
Will the sap rise in your mind and body
As buds bloom and the grass grows tall?
Will you lie with me in the Summer
In the humid heat of the afternoon
A siesta stolen whilst away from home
A cotton sheet lying crisp and cool
And the flies buzzing against the window pane?
Will you lie with me in the Autumn
As the world hibernates, and seals itself away
The wind blows but we are safe and sound
In front of the fire, hissing and crackling
Will you light the fire in me?
Will you lie with me in the Winter
Beneath a down duvet, snug and warm
Presents are wrapped and the store cupboards are full
A quiet Christmas planned
Just you and I, alone with our thoughts?
