A Simple Task

A simple task
Becomes the highest mountain
And he the only one who cannot climb it
A small effort
Becomes the deepest ocean
And he the only who cannot swim it
A simple task
Becomes the thickest forest
And he the only one who cannot cross it
And he starts panting
And he starts shaking
He starts shouting
Ranting and raving
Rambling and moaning
Acting up, playing up
Like a small child
That does not want to go
Where he knows it is best to go
A voice
A still small voice
Yet loud enough to break the shouting
Loud enough to make him stop
"Why all the shouting
And why all the anger
Why all the frustration
All the protests.
My burden is light
My Yoke is easy
Though it does not seem at first sight
The simple task, the small effort
They are my yoke, they are my burden
For you"
A simple task
A simple "Yes"
And the highest mountain
Becomes a beautiful valley
A small effort
A simple "I surrender"
And the deepest ocean
Becomes the most wonderful reef
A simple task
And simple humility
The thickest Forest becomes
A wonderful place to cross
And as he takes the path
Surrenders with humility
The yoke is easy indeed
The burden light
And as he makes the small effort
He can see beyond
He can see what comes
And his heart jumps
his body leaps for joy
Thru the trials and tribulations
Paradise appears
