Tandoori Marinade

Spoons and spoons of yogurt
split your cardamom pods
crush your coriander
shake your pepper pot
stir and stir the mixture
a pinch of turmeric
add your roasted cumin
snap your cinnamon stick
dip and lick your finger
add two shakes of cayenne
check the spicy level
salt the stickiness
share the spoon when trying
lick it silver clean
stand a little closer
and taste another kiss

A very nice piece, if I may
A very nice piece, if I may say so. As I was reading it, I thought how's this going to end. I didn't expect the ending as it came but could relate to it entirely when it did. I assumed there was a good bottle of red or a chablis perhaps to accompany the whole (cooking) experience along as well. Also, I like the sense here of how there is here the whole idea as well that relationships, particularly new ones, are about experiencing the ingredients that each brings to the 'compot'.

I like the repetition of the
I like the repetition of the 'k' sounds - fricatives? Reminds me of the clicks of spoons on pans while cooking, which further evokes the process.
I have also made a point to keep an eye on animan, since this is the second piece I have read this morning where a comment contains references to chablis!
