Are You Out There?

Are you out there I wonder
As the crisp night air blows in
through the crack in my window
The trees beyond the pathway dull the sounds
of the hustle form the city afar
But I hear my thoughts loudly
Are you out there.
My tired body rests on the window ledge
I pull my dressing gown in closer to warm the chill
that makes me clasp my fists
A refreshing coolness that is welcome with me and my thoughts
The dark room behind me and the orange glow of the street light are equally still
and my heart cries in excitement
Are you out there?
