Arid is my wit in age
Barren of bright ideas
Carrion Crows pick my brains
Dust left behind in layers.
Edging closer to the grave
Failing sight and hearing
Growing frailer by the week
Hopelessly careering
Into gloom and grumpiness
Jousting with memory
Kicking cats, cursing prats…Oh
Lead me to the cemet’ry.
Minuscule my mind for patients
Non-existent and devoid
Of understanding data
Preceptors all destroyed;
Questions needing answers
Reside inside my head, yet
Still it would be handy
To ask them all instead of
Utterly forgetting them, then
Vehemently denying
Wandering absently around
Xanthic faced and crying.
Yes it’s such a rotten trick
ZAP! You’re now a geriatric.

Well structured - as usual. Well described too, with an underlying humour that suggests that you are not taking yourself too seriously. I like this and unfortunately, can identify. ;)

Well I got it straight away.

Well I got it straight away. I think it just looks odd, given the two possible meanings; if I was worried about it I would maybe change it to Minuscule. Small or Tiny definitely send the wrong message, I feel.

Well, I could identify with every word of this, unfortunately. Brilliantly written and many congrats on the well-deserved cherry. Your sense of humour is to be admired almost as much as your writing:-)

- this line made me laugh! And the ending was wonderful. A great take on this week's IP ;)
