Fisherman’s Son
Moonbeam flashlight
covers the
little boy and his
dog, Sandy.
Sitting on
papa’s dory this time
of night is neat
one day he’ll fish
for cod too.
Sky is darker than a
wet blanket, an
owl’s hoot
coyotes singing.
“Sleepy time!”
is mama’s thunder
and feet explode
on the dock.
“Coming!”
