Lost letter of a champion

To my Darling lo\/ers,
You all know who you were, or did you?
What is a champion they asked, well my fellows, a champion in the classical sense was generally a male of great physical appearance and a heart that could only be tainted by the de\/il or some other immortal di\/ine being, and e\/en then a true champion will yield to none but himself. Suppose though that this champion had both the de\/il who represents true e\/il in all its pure form and the opposite which could only be described in terms of the Christ. Both these figures are mythical but they both represent forms that li\/e inside each and e\/ery human being on this planet. Now our champion was aware of this and at one point he made a pact with his de\/il, he was promised the life he dreamed of as a consciously aware young man, he quenched the de\/il within him and offered his life to pursuits of enormous magnitude. The dragon was slayed, the feats of e\/ery hero that had li\/ed before him ran through his blood, so what was left for our modern champion of classical proportions to achie\/e? He turned to his de\/il and asked him cautiously what would you ha\/e of me? He bore the scars of pre\/ious life and felt that the world he li\/ed in was stalling along a trodden path, he dreamed of re\/olutions the type Che would have been proud of.
Still nothing...
Finally letting impatience get the better of him he decided to test the de\/il.
Ok all mighty e\/il one, the eye of all that is, the one half of the complete whole, tell me this, if my future as a hero is to be championed from my current purpose then what benefit do you get from my current situation?
The de\/il smiled and turned away, but this was not enough for the champion, foolishly he snapped forward at the di\/ine one and pulled him back, answer my question I say. I may be a man but you Sir require me to li\/e, now answer me before I end both our sorry li\/es.
You wouldn't dare he cried, oh but I would remarked our champion, Indeed folks he would, if for only one moment he could be certain that it was his chosen future, to be the hero who slayed the De\/il that biblical king of all that is E\/il, e\/en Jesus christ himself could not destroy the de\/il, but here in the face of the prospect we ha\/e a hero who thinks he can do just that, eradicate the de\/il and all his e\/il ways in one blow to his own heart.
Unfortunately the champion seriously underestimated the de\/il and within seconds of his reprimand he was sat up in his bed feeling the harshest symptoms of a fe\/er not yet at its peak, shrieking \/oices sang out in his head, the mirror on the wall before him warping shapes and colours, the curtains on his window wrapping and twisting with nasty faces of urchins creeping towards him then disappearing, only to reappear under his own eye lids, cursed \/isions of a sinister nature, all the e\/ils of mother nature before his own eyes and behind them.
But to be a champion this is where we must go, these are the journeys we must journey, in order to become a champion you must challenge the de\/il and suffer the fate he throws at you, he will not commit you to harm yourself because he lies within, he will only show you a fate worse than death.
Face this with an open heart, fear nothing except yourself, and most of all ne\/er underestimate the power of the forces within you, be this the christ or antichrist.
May the lo\/e of the world be carried in your heart.
Then when you are on your death bed and you reflect on life and remember the time you challenged the de\/il, know then that you may just be someone's champion.
