Morning Glow

I could so easily fall in,
Be carried by the undertow;
Toes curling in the sand,
Breakwater and morning glow.
We could fear the promise of storms,
Or enjoy the sun while it’s high,
Dance with the shifting sands,
With one eye upon the sky.
If the clouds begin to fall,
And the seas begin to turn,
We would have had this time, and
the lessons that we’ve learned.
The sun will slip below the line,
And we will watch it slowly go,
Tomorrow becomes today again,
Break water and morning glow.
