On Avoiding Taxidermy

I think I’d like to be a catch

but not the kind that involves running about
or guns
or hooks on a line

maybe more the kind that results from a fall from a tree
or a slip on a wet path

it doesn’t need to be a dramatic rescue
and I certainly don’t fancy my head on a wall

just someone to catch and
hold me for a while

to let me know I’m safe
