He perches among the gargoyles,
His brazen claws grasp the walls of stone.
His eyes wander unto the city soils,
As he stands solemn, and alone.
The wind about him does no harm;
For it’s his power, so to speak.
He stretches his utmost and powerful arms,
And the danger below, he sights and seeks.
He flies down like a comet—
Straight, sure, and fast.
Moments before the ground he meets,
He breaks his fall and lands.
The darkness around him starts to flee.
His armor is of shining steel.
His enemies all start to break as they see
His power, his light—it’s all surreal.
He’s the bringer of light,
A hero in a cape and armor.
He’s the enmity of fear.
A God-given Saviour.

What! a gorgeous poem.
so true! Spiritual story
I imagine love word's God-given Saviour.
Like Those who believe in me, shall not
live in the darkness, but in the light!
"I am The Light Of The World". Of a 2nd
hand picture I have, beautiful. Froma a market.
Daughter got when she was very young, found amazed,
as asked her to find one and did.
All true!

Very clever. I can really see it. Perfect example of showing and not telling. I paticularly like the first stanza.
