Fading

In and out of time, a camouflaged shadow lost in the seas of days,
Wherever I appear I do not belong, no need, since I am quick to say goodbye.
Winds that carry me oh so far, not as far as I like,
Wherein my present moment I am not here nor there, but yet I reside.
A masochist of being alone, for I cannot see why I should belong,
Leveled on the valley of the destitute awaiting for some sort of companion.
Happy I am at this place of solitude, odd as I may sound,
For I can be myself without the chains of tomorrow holding me down.
Controlled by the wandering, standing on the brink of nothingness,
This is where my heart lies in the tides of what is bright and new.
For what fades, no matter how we display our endless ache,
Will always be replaced with a more beautiful and melodic sense of awe.
How else did we make it this far, not coming and going,
When we forget about where we were and where we are going then we are at home?
Simple yet surreal this meaningful existence, a reality we ignore,
By not becoming a whole part of something we leave a little room what makes us real.
