Little New Year Rhymes and a Prayer

On December 31st
and at the midnight hour;
fireworks go boom and burst
into a big, bright shower.
When Big Ben begins to chime,
to let everyone know the time,
then you will hear the people cheer
and shout, “Have a Happy New Year”.
------------------------------------------
Within those wondrous chimes and cheers;
bright laughter of the infant year.
Who knows what morrowyears may bring?
No sorrow, we hope, nor tears to sting
but, while we hear bells
in our hearts
let them ring
and let’s sing for the incoming year.

January.
February.
Thank you very
much for merry
months of March,
April and May,
the pretty Spring
you bring our way.
-----------------------------------------
I pray for a spring time of the human heart;
that, as frost thaws and snow melts and
bright, flourishing life reclaims the earth
so winter hearts will become warm
and green with love and bright
with the April blossoms of kindness and affection.
