Looking for God

I am lost in loneliness. At times, I feel that no one really understands me. The truth is, I don't understand myself. I listen, listen to my silence and try to find God there.
"Why are you looking for me?"
"I'm so discontent with my life. I seek answers to my questions."
"What kind of answers are you looking for?"
Then God is silent again. When he speaks, I feel close to being, to the radiance of life. I am like sunflower, smiling toward the sun and loving it. I want to hear his voice again, if only for a while.
"Why is there so much suffering in this world?"
"If there were no suffering, no one would seek me."
That was true. That was true. There was no justice in this world and people sought God to provide justice. Suffering was human in the sense that we suffered because the world was imperfect and could not provide for our needs. Perfectly content people were rare indeed and they had no need for God.
"Must there be suffering in order for there to be a human soul?"
"The soul suffers because it does not find harmony with the world around it. The world is fallen."
Yes, the world was fallen. I didn't really want to know anymore. I wanted to breath.
