Tommy's Trust

When Tommy came to town he was hurting inside ,
he had lost his trust ,
he had lost his pride .
You could tell in his eyes he was mastered by pain ,
you couldn’t saddle him up ,
never mind hold the rein .
Sometimes you know
We do what we must ,
it takes time to win back the trust .
With gentle hands and love Tommy started to train ,
lunging and bringing him water and grain
being around Tommy started to trust
and a friendship was found in the sweat and the dust
just like a horseshoe
we've got to bend ,
trust is the steel forged by a friend .
Running around with nothing to fear
the spooks of the past had had all
disappeared ,
kicking and bucking , flicking up his ear
with the sounds of life always so near ,
You know sometimes love can be just like that ,
It makes the heart race and go pitter pat .
Ride on Tommy my four legged friend
you can trust in me to the end
tommy trust me
I'll never let you down
you can hang around the town .
Tommy's trust
