Sitting one day I was strumming and humming along
something like this
Mmm mmm mmm mmm mmm mmm Mmm mmm mmm mmm mmm mmm
thoughts to me started coming
of this fascinating battling woman
who was overcoming so much trouble in her life

Battle on woman don’t give in ,
Battle on woman , you’re going to win
Battle on woman don’t loose sight
Battle on woman there comes a light
Battle on woman darkness will end
battle on woman you’ve got a friend .

Caught up in a siege
of a marriage on the rocks
as scattered seeds fell on the dusty steps of hell
and MS came wrapped up in a package
with no ties to keep them together
so she said fair thee well ,
I’m moving on , Dear John

Well she ran all the way from Cobram
and left the river Murray sobbing
with the suffering and pain
and the time she spent with Ian
was like a mountain to high
and much too hard to climb
Mohammed he came with a new name for her –
She took to Iraq until she came back
and after ten years had gone ,
the battle was still raging on .

She was accused in the wrong
and she had to be strong to clear her good name
and then to reclaim her life .
Five footsteps from hell and face to face
is where I met Michelle
in a place where the innocent dwell
and the story I tell is of a woman who stands alone ,

For all the years when you wanted to shout ,
for all the tears that have all come out
be proud of who you are what you’ve done so far .
Justice will come
and it will be over soon when the battle’s won
