An organ sings, in a cage of bone
While neurons fire, connect to learn
To feel, to miss, to love, to yearn
Unreal, ringing bells
Classically conditioned to lust for Hell
Is this nature’s grand design?!
Submit to insanity
To reproduce, our species survive?
Preprogrammed torture belted by the mind
Pheromones exploding bombs inside your head
Leads the animal within to a beguiling bed
And then…
Unrequited and left behind,
With a knotted throat and salted eyes
Searching for a reason why, Oh, Jesus, Oh Lord
I've prayed, I've loved, so tell me why?
Releasing a desecrated cry
Nailed and bound
The organ pounds,
And pound and POUNDS!
Against the cage, a hammered heart, hurt, unsound
Escaped into the safety of the conscious mind
Learned to ride the wind of time
And sorrow wanes
For love is not of the heart
But a delusion conjured by the brain

That is very intelligent and thought provoking, Ama dreams. I read it three times and I shall read it again. I intend to post some of my own poetry soon, which is mostly a few years old, because I've been concentrating on my rather strange stories. I read in your profile that you've only recently started trying to publicise your work because you thought you weren't good enough - rest assured, if your other work approaches the quality of this piece you are plenty good enough and you have talent to spare.

Everyone sees the world differently, which is why reading other folks' stuff is so educational and fulfilling. I just wish more people would write. My missus can talk the hind leg off a donkey, but the thought of writing down her experiences frightens her half to death. My stuff is, I can confidently say, unlike anything you've ever read before.

Read this earlier and liked it. Just read it again, noticed you've given it an edit, and now I love it. It's definitely better for a slight prune. 'An organ sings, in a cage of bone'- absolutely love that line!

For some reason I can't edit until I post it... I can't see my mistakes until it is public. It's weird. I usually put up first drafts and then work on it. Sorry for the headache of my editing. :/ And thank you...

I'm the same- things that need changing seem to jump out at me once I've posted a piece. It's not a headache! I came back to it because I enjoyed it first time round, only to find it was even better than before. If anything it was a nice surprise!
