Had a Chianti accident
on the the white wool carpet last night

It's OK
It's fine now

We sprinkled on a little salt
used some cleaner
and the Chianti's OK

Better still
when left till next day

Nobody died
No one got hurt

And the sun's shining
through an open door
through trees
and clouds of flying insects
Midges mainly

And the lavender is out
for the bees

Poor bastards

What about the gunman in America?

Had quite an interesting chat on FB about the whole thing, jolono. Something along the lines of: Gun ownership is a right of free people (US context) - you just have to be able to accept the consequences. The carpet should be ok, I think. It's suffered worse. ;-)

Hello Parson Thru, Yes, this is a thoughtful poem about a tragic subject and I like how you keep a small accident at home in perspective when compared to the terrible gun tragedy in America. Well done to you, Parson Thru Moya
