conversation addict

have you met her/him? seen
her/him there, twitching in the corner,
because there is nothing to relate to
or no one to chat with? have you seen
the dependence (seen the words drip
from the lips right out into the air?
seen the itching of the skin to the
rhythm of a song that no one is
singing?)? have you fed the
addiction all yourself, only to walk
away in an instance, leaving him/her
fiending all day & night?

got to wean him/her off, ya know.
got to know that silence among us
isn’t half bad,
because it all stops the stirring for a
moment &
when the mind stops stirring,
real focus develops
&
from then on, conversation itself
can be so much more rewarding
(because one knows they don’t
need it to survive).
