VI - Surprise
"Anyways, I think we'd better go, Hofniel will get angry if we're late." Our cohort has already gone out and we're the last ones, I open the through which all the others have gone out. In front of me is a grassy field that's as long as the eye can see. Our cohort is lined up in an orderly fashion. We go to the back of the line.
"Glad you could join us, Rathnael, Blaz, I was just giving some life-saving advice, but apparently you both want to cease to exist, therefore I shall not stop you, your lives aren't important to anyone anyways." My fists clench at his word, anger rises and replaces every rational thought, apparently it also has an effect on my wings, because without knowing it I'm now many feet off the ground. Apart from the "Ooh"s and "Aah"s I hear an extremely strange statement from the least likely person to say it.
"Ok, I'm sorry, I didn't mean, just stop!", it's General Hofniel, a total mess, crying on the grass floor, suddenly he stops, he looks at me, and his expression is of wild fear. As soon as he opens his mouth a siren rings, suddenly an immaculate angel full in armor stands between me and Hofniel, the whole cohort staring at me with an awed expression on either side of me.
"Raphael!", I exclaim in delight. I can't shake the feeling that I know this person from somewhere, it feels like he's a very old friend of mine. He smiles at me for about a second and then addresses the whole cohort with Hofniel still looking dumbfounded behind him. "Demons have invaded, well, almost every cohort's training center from every legion, it's a big one this time -", while I'm trying to listen from behind I hear Rathnael talking to me, "Man, you look exactly like Raphael, it's like you could be twins! Anyways, what was that man? Your wings were gleaming gold and I couldn't make myself look at your face-", "Shush, we'll talk later.", I say, not really paying attention to what he's saying. "-and this section is the most important because there is an unseen portal to the entrance of God's gardens here."
"But isn't the gate like, super secure?"
"Yes but the security there responds to...well...it's complicated, but it's extremely important you keep them away from the portal, the portal is in the armoury, it will appear only to the worthy, you normal angels won't see it, only Arch angels and up, got that?" I will aid you since you never had your senior training, remember everything you learned from junior training, if you were bred here anyway. Every legion is fighting their own battle, this will be the biggest fight. All arch angels are occupied but might pop in to help, routing demon fighting, just a tad bit more serious." A huge explosion from the sky.
