Treasure me like a desert sun

Treasure me like a desert sun
Take me for all the sap you can.
Be my cacti, my lover pricking
Every nerve end till I (…wan!)
Oh I’ll make olive oil at dawn
And primrose oil in the evening.
I’ll tremble like a willow in a
Dried-up riverbed dreaming…
Dreaming of a cool, registering—
Star: A jewel that sultrily falls
And rests like a breathless bird
After storms - long squalls.
“Love me like a sticky coffee trail
A honey bee thirstily licks”.
Hover with the passion of a vulture
With greedy burning eyes transfix.
Tenuous with an aching desire
Firefly around my yearning …
Heart on the pinnacle crest...
Of a silver wave spurning,
Sleep, sleep in my clover limbs
Moth lusting in the moonlight
Again; breathless in a bloom…
Entomb in the foam of a plume.
