God?

where are you, Lord?
where is your home?
is it in the heavens
or the earth?
each day we live, looking
towards you,
asking you,
trying to love you
with our hearts
and our souls?

mirrors of reality,
i disdain,
i seek only to be near you
your sacred presence
taking my shoes off
and knowing you
listening to you as you speak.

i complain
there is so much i don't understand
so much i need to know
and you are silent,
you've already said all that you were
going to say.

i ensoul and enshrine
looking for your image
not you
knowing you to be divine and kind
and understanding and seen.

do not forsake me Lord
be with me as you always were.
