Josh watched himself in the mirror, head cocked to one side, breathing heavy with tiny beads of sweat forming on his forehead .His hands were shaking as he held them out in front of him, slowly to the mirror to touch his reflection. He touched where his face appeared on the glass. He looked at his pale, dull skin and the dark smudges under both eyes. Picking up the paint, he smeared white over his nose, using a small sponge to spread it evenly over his face. He stared into his lonely eyes, the pupils small then enlarged as they flick from left to right, trying desperately to read his thoughts. He picked up the fake blood and squeezed a blob onto his mouth, using the back of his hand to spread it erratically. He clenched his jaw and bent his face down, looking up to the mirror, smiling menacingly, and with his right hand he smashed the glass.
My soul whimpers and shrieks as it is once again ripped from its damaged cave. Particles drip to the floor, lying still for only moments before the stream of cells gather together like a transporter, ready to be built again. My heart is cut into tiny pieces and thrown out of the window, caught by the wind and blown upwards towards the sky. I keep chasing my heart but the wind teases me, gathering my heart pieces higher until out of sight. The clouds give way and heavy raindrops roll down my cheeks, masking my tears. If I cry too much, will they drown me?
