Spring Things

I praise the joyful litany of things
that are so wonderful about the Spring;
her sun, a golden kiss on bluer skies;
her gentle breeze, April’s contented sighs;
her blooms spreading a rainbow everywhere
and spraying fragrant incense on the air;
her birds who praise the sunrise with their song
and chirp like laughing children all day long.
When, in my life, the gloom of troubles starts,
upon these cheery things I rest my heart.
