Black heart

I choose not to represent
I care not to know
The damage my actions
May cause to those unknown
This lump in my chest
Its chambers filled with pride
Will lead me wilfully
Without batting an eye
Into the depth of the earth
Never high on the plane
My heart has a sick,
Morbid curiosity for pain
Its ability to destroy
With words from its soul
Its habit of corruption
From within are untold
Like cancer it spreads
No concern for living cells
Its iniquitous dealings,
A page straight from hell
Wickedly deceitful
I can’t place my trust
Even though it maintains life
To destroy, for it is a must
It’s the seat of emotion
And thrives on the high
Of watching and waiting,
Bloodthirsty with lies
Trust it at your peril
Placed confidence is a waste
This black heart of mine
Refuses to be chaste
