You were the world., once,
my little exhaustive flame.
intangible, ever living.
You burn into a smothering space,
wax-ridden, glazed.
there will be no use,
in keeping me warm and safe.
beneath the relenting blaze,
your ideally destructive holocaust.
your light is far too blinding,
a never ending firework show,
eternity set you, aglow, aglow
you scorn these sluggish eyes-
between blinks and infinite highs.
Your sores,
Your awful third degree,
ravages all-knowing,
the earth and pines,
My stone stature.
My addict heart.
in every touch,
you harm, melt, and simmer,
plastic, hallow snarls
of what girl is left.
you devour,
ash and cinder.
you watch me cave.
all bone asunder,
against you,
I will rise another day.
Another day,
I will arise.

I liked this. Great use of rhyme and well expressed emotions.

Well written and intense. Made me think of Sylvia Plath although I like this better. Elsie
