Again and again
P K Routray
With future versus past,
musings in contrast,
old is brooding over
her past gone for ever
hazed sweet memory
childhood, youth story
care of father mother
company of friends galore
competition and competitor
struggle for existence ever
sweaty and sweet conjugal harmony
with love, hug and bitter fights many.
Many a catastrophic trepidation
vanished, melted with time in to oblivion.
Those look today as fun
thus her life has so far run.
The treasury of life, the time has stolen
It is not far like her grandmother she will also be forgotten.
The girl on lap looks with apprehension
How can she exist without her companion?
Ahead lies the awed mystery, she alone has to face
without mother, father and companions’ grace.
Thinking of ghosts ghouls perceived from her grandma’s tale
apprehensive of life as if surrounded by them she looks pale,
She seems to be afraid and nervous to pull on alone
with company of people so far uncertain and unknown.
With pleasures and pains, untold stories unfurled again and again
youth replacing childhood, old age replacing youth the cycles of life on the earth are never on wane!
(N.B Imagining a girl looking apprehsensivly from the lap of her thoughyful grand mother)
