YOUR FAVORITE BLANKET

you have a favorite blanket

and it helps to keep you warm

but it soon gets discarded

when the days of summer swarm

your blanket isn't pretty

and the threads are rather bare

there's even a small tear or two

you might discover there

there's blankets much more lovely

much more clever in design

much newer and much cleaner

with materials, more fine

you claim you love your blanket

and would never let it go

but when it serves no purpose

you forget about it, though

when autumn leaves are falling

you'll remember that it's time

to retrieve your favorite blanket

for its comfort is sublime
