After an uneventful day at the office, I head home. Home is where the heart is, but Catherine and I have been on rather frigid terms lately. The elevator shoots me up to the nineteenth floor. I head toward my door. The door, the door, the door. "Look at me," the door says. I look at the hole in the door with the camera faced toward me. "Good day, Mr. McGlovers?" "Good day, Helena." The door opens. It is a but ajar. I walk in. There is Catherine, reading a book. "Good day, Mr. McGlovers." "Good day, Catherine." She looks down toward her book. "Dinner is prepared," she says. I see the dinner on the dining room table. It is a lonely existence. Living with Catherine. She shows her disappointment by not looking directly at me. Sex is a long gone-by pasttime. We live almost separate lives of the soul.
