Unite and Fight
P K Routray
“Unite, you flourish,
divide, you perish.”
Moral from a childhood grand ma’s story
lost and forgotten in modern man’s living furry.
“Flourish alone, exist alone” is modern man’s innate choice,
avoids he often listening to his neighbors’ begging voice.
Now man is not aware and awake to the need of neighbors and society
his craze is only for wealth and to stay glued to the modern amenity.
Fights he with his neighbors for an inch of land or for an act of his pet,
prays he for neighbors’ misery to be happy when misery they get.
Social bondage, human fraternities are on the rapid wane
the modern inventions for human joy and comfort have turned as bane.
Man can remain in isolation gossiping and playing with a machine,
no other man is required and to have a group to share man now is not keen.
Man’s hatred to his fellow man, and the incurable diseases owing to lack of human love
have spurt forth many a ferocious lion in ambush to attack anywhere on the globe.
Selfish ends dwindling the resources and polluting the environment
with disturbing ecology lure these lions to be the worst violent.
The lion is not far to eat the greedy one intending to exist alone
may be the one will be the first of its preys before to one’s fellow men it is known.
The beasts teach the unwise man the art and joy of social bondage
where man seeks the ways and means to harm his fellow man to take selfish milage.
