Blameless
P K Routray
While on an evening stroll
the events of past in me started to scroll
Many ill- lucks and missed opportunities
Mused, I over with pain of sighs from my heart’s abyss.
Without those ill lucks and missed opportunities
I would have achieved many heights with ease.
Blamed I Him and crushed Him for the injustices inflicted on me
as to many others similar lucks generously blessed He.
All on a sudden a light flashed before my mind’s eye.
In the dazzling light a divine figure I could see.
He asked me to know an ill luck from my list
which he would covert to my good luck if I insist
but it would be in lieu of an event happened in my life
it does not matter if the event to me is besieged with pleasure, pain or strife.
While weighing the events in my life the wisdom struck me
on the whole life as such has been fair that I could see.
If one of the happenings is removed or reversed
the entire scene and sequence of life might have been worst.
The pleasures would not have been there without those pains,
the success would have vanished without those failures and strains.
My life might have been a life with uncertain aura of misery
the life, though I had sorrows and failures but is full of joy and glory
I felt embarrassed for my complaints and blames
bowed to Him I with gratitude withdrawing and surrendering my claims.
