Big Bang Beginning

Emptiness was all around;

silence was the only sound;

darkness, all that could be seen

then nothing blew to smithereens.

And, from nothing, something was born;

the void, to fiery pieces, torn;

the birth of light, blinding bright;

the first day after endless night.

With infant cry of cosmic quake;

a sleeping giant became awake;

the universe opened an eye;

the first bright star in the new born sky.
