Chinese Girlfriend

I saw you with your Chinese girlfriend
She is a galaxy, a brick wall
A template, a fantasy
And she doesn't smile at all
Or me to her
For I cannot breath as I observe
Her pushing down on mother earth
No words pass her round, bloodless lips
She breathes - by that I am eclipsed
And you are all glued up
If not to her then to yourself
And your own imagined spotless shore
Free of the sticky littered sands
On which you trod before
Now your eyes hold me down
But I know where you dug the hole
And I may yet stoop low
Disturb the soil of our depleted ground

reminds me a bit of Carol
reminds me a bit of Carol Anne Duffy Love Poems. I'm telling you that so I can seem pretty brainy. But this is great.

What words were intended for. Each short statement is a poem in itself. Leaves a footprint in the sand.
