May you have a Facebook Rainbow

Life's glorious like a rainbow,
So I've been told.
Reds, oranges, yellows, greens,
Blues, indigos and violets;
Water and light
Creating glory to behold
-
I cough and hide my retorts
-
My life:
Relentless depression
Obdurate loneliness
Years on years of patience and perseverance
Gargantuam amounts of stress
Banishment from 'family'
Impaired mind, body, soul functioning
Vast lists of failures and rejections.
-
Then I pause to see
Look at how others' lives may be
-
My friends and family's facebook streams
They are riding a different rainbow it seems:
Reciprocated love
Opulent lifestyles
Youthful photogenic laughter
Gifts of good health, conquered challenges
Blessings in abundance glittered with joy
Inestimable relationships and talents
Venturesome delights.
-
What special rainbows they have
Next to my faulty life.
I wish you none of my reality
And only all the glory
Of a facebook rainbow life.

You can't believe Facebook, but the fantasy life can lift spirits.

Thanks Philip... the fantasy only depresses me more I'm afraid, and the older I get the worse it gets... like I'm running out of time and I'm not where I'm supposed to be and no matter what I try I can't make things happen... yet others are making things happen... sigh ... Keep well. $

Beleive nothing you see on Facebook Shannon. It's all just smoking mirrors. Their lives are just the same...normal! Hope you're well.

Most of the stuff up there is actually quite real, where my friends are concerned anyway, only because I see them in person too... the Facebook is the achievement, the highlight, their better moments... I know in the murky background, the hardships it took to get there, but still their hardwork was worth it and mine all seems so futile... Haven't been well (ha ha, I think that may be why this all came out of the woodwork ;-), but getting better. Cyber hug$

HI, Shannan. Sorry to hear things hav e been pretty tough.
Keeping up with friends on facebook seems to be a mixed blessing – you can catch up with the news they want to share, but for real friendship you need face to face friends you can share everything with. Do you not have a family-church with not only helpful ministry to build you up in the struggles and faith, and the help of the Spirit, but also friends, young and old to have real fellowship with, and who will pray for and with you. (Sometimes the older believers can empathise from much experience if they are still clearly walking with the Lord, and have done through many years.) You keep praying and reading the scriptures prayerfully too. love and prayers, Rhiannon

With chronic fatigue you can't get up to go to them. Most people these days function around their immediate circle and that is where their energy goes. I do have many deep and enduring friendships, but as they have husbands and children now the dynamic has changed and their time is sparse on a good day. Actually my church is mostly old dears, but I haven't managed to tie in those meetings with my health. So my God-time is GREAT at the moment, just He, Me and Sleep and LOADS of school pressure that has me in another not so great space... And still God tells me to wait (a 4 year-long answer now!)... if I even try go the universe stops me - it is quite astounding! We shall see what the future holds and what on earth I'm waiting for that has driven me and my patience mental ;-) Trust you are well. Thrilled to read you are still so deep in faith. Carry on! Blessings $

smoke and mirrors is for politicians, facebook is for, well, I'm not really sure, people like me trying to sell something, even if it's the perfect picture of the perfect meal, with perfect children, having a perfect homelife and they are perfectly happy. Look for the cracks, those dotted lines we used to cut out images with.

As I had commented on others' work your 'new' comment didn't even come up on my screen. Most annoying. Apologies. I like your take on j's comment. Maybe you are right and Facebook is us trying to turn our lives into something better with forward thinking and projection of good things into the universe... Hey, I also did that cutting out - cooll memory :-) ... I guess no-one / thing has given us lines for our lives, it's all free-draw... and Facebook can be part of the draw, if we like, or not, if we don't ;-) Thanks for your thoughts. Have a great week $
