A little girl, she made a man;
she made him out of marzipan;
for eyes, she gave him chocolate chips
and split a cherry for his lips.
But when she came to hug him tight;
the man of marzipan took fright,
“Oh do not eat me up”, he said
and ran and hid beneath her bed.
“Don’t worry”, said the little girl
as, round his waist, her arms, she curled,
“I did not make a man to eat
for hugging him is far more sweet”.
