At first Raider had thought it was simply thunder that was roaring in the skies but then, looking up he saw the ghost of green scaly skin and then a blazing yellow eye, like a gigantic jewel, open out of thin air and then, suddenly, infront of them both he and Zophos saw a towering, roaring Dragosaur appear.
"Where did that come from?", asked Raider, reaching for the omnitool in his hip holster and transforming it into a sword.
"Vorgia must have sent it here using a matter transmitter. Its like a directed teleporter beam", said Zophos.
"Well what do I do?", asked Raider, "How do I fight a thing like that?".
"You have to use your warping abilities, Raider", said Zophos.
"To do what?", asked Raider.
"The legends tell of Warp Warriors who could fly upon waves of warped space", said Zophos, "Perhaps you could fly up to it".
"Fly? I don't know how to fly", said Raider starting to panic.
But then the Dragosaur, turning its large head, opened its enormous tooth filled mouth wide and, roaring out a bright red stream of fire, started to lumber hungrilly towards them, the earth seeming to tremble beneath its tread.
"You have to try", said Zophos, putting a hand on the boys shoulder,"Clear your mind and concentrate".
Raider closed both his eyes and thought of the sky; of drifting clouds; of birds rising and spreading their wings and the ground getting further and further below his feet; anything that might make him fly but it was no good; it just wasn't working.
"It won't work", he said to Zophos, shaking his head, "I can't do it".
"Thats it", shouted Zophos, sounding far away for some reason, "You're doing it. Now slay the Dragosaur".
Raider opened his eyes and saw a cloud drift by infront of them brushing the tip of his nose, then looking down he saw Zophos but he was as small as an ant, miles below.
Unfortunately he could also see the drooling Dragosaur looming over him.
"Don't worry", yelled Raider, "I'll...er...I'll do something".
Focusing his mind again, Raider imagined himself as an eagle swooping down from the sky and as he did he felt his whole body pivoting around; tilting forwards, then downwards and then, suddenly, without even trying, he was doing it, swooping just like the eagle in his mind towards the Dragosaurs roaring head.
"Take that!", he shouted as, flying close to the scaly creatures ear, he hacked at it with his sword.
With a roar of pain and anger, the monster turned away from Zophos; looking up at Raider with hate blazing in its yellow, lamp like eyes but then, arching backwards and expanding its chest like a scaly, green balloon the monster roared a searing torrent of flame in Raiders direction.
There was no time for Raider to fly out of its path but fortunately he still had his omnitool that he transformed, at a thought, into a heat resistent shield.
But then the Dragosaur turned back towards Zophos and, expanding its chest again, it looked as if it intented to roast the old man alive.
"What am I going to do?", thought Raider.
Just then, however, looking at one of the large three toed footprints that the monster had left in the ground, Raider had an idea.
He knew that scientists created wormholes by warping space and time, so maybe...
Looking at the ground underneath the Dragosaurs long, spiky tail he focused his mind, imagining the earth cracking and a deep hole opening up and, as he did, he could see the ground cracking; long zig-zags like black lightning spreading across it and then, the earth splintering and collapsing into shards, he saw them all tumble down into a deep black hole.
But how could he get the Dragosaur to move backwards into it?
Suddenly, he remembered his omnitool and, mentally transforming it into a starpistol, he flew downwards again, this time circling around the creatures enormous head before, aiming the starpistol towards the creatures right eye, he fired.
Clutching its eye with its left, gigantic scaly hand, the creature bellowed with pain, moving backwards but then, as it did, it stepped, with one of its large feet, over the edge of the wormhole that Raider had opened up and then, losing its balance, the Dragosaur went crashing downwards, screaming out a jet of fire as it did so but disappearing into oblivion.
"You did it, Raider", cried Zophos jubilantly as Raider returned to the ground and, focussing his mind again, made the wormhole close up, "I knew you could. Now if we can only get the Druon council to believe in you as I do then we may have a hope of defeating Zorgia".

Very visual, and everything
Very visual, and everything moving at a cracking pace.
Pedant's corner - Zophos or Zofos?
Sorry. It's a small point in such a richly imagined world!
