The Eagle and The Worm (Fable) Once a worm saw an Eagle land nearby to it and, frightened, it said, "Please don't eat me".
"Eagles don't eat worms", said the Eagle with disgust.
Moral: The great do not concern themselves with petty things

The Frog Contest (Fable) Two frogs were having a jumping contest, seeing who could leap the closest to a branch of a tree that was above their heads.
One frog leapt so high that he was able to touch the branch with the tip of his nose.
"I think I've jumped the highest that one can jump", he said after he had come down again.
But the other frog could not stand the thought of being beaten and so he tried to leap even higher and, in doing so, bumped his head upon the branch.
Moral: Pride can make us behave foolishly.

The mound upon the mountain (Fable) Once, ontop of a mountain, sat a mound of earth that, touching the sky, exclaimed,
"How tall I am. Tall enough to touch the sky".
Hearing this the mountain laughed.
"You can only touch the sky because you're standing upon me", it said.
Moral: People often do not recognise how much they owe to others.
