If Only

If only our lives were a blank page
We could write such wonderful things
No mention of the battles we wage
No pain from the world's many stings

All endings could be tailored made
This life does not have to be tragic
Nevermore should we be afraid
Once again there would be magic

Although we could ask ourselves this
What is life without tribulation
Could there be something we would miss
There would be, is my declaration

There is a reason we are born weak
The answer you may already know
In order to find all that we seek
We must first have the drive, to grow
