The legend of the one you love

We are not grim or melancholy about our famous men; our prophets or our kings
though mortality has swept each one aside.
We celebrate them all and tell the story of their lives.
Why not then with those we love?

Say that once there was a flower and they were my treasured child
and they laughed and played and danced and sang
and did many other wondrous things
and brought smiles to all who knew them.
Say all that was great about them as you would for a princess or a saint.
Tell the legend of the one you love; keep sacred the miracle of their lives.
And after that, what else needs to be said?
