The Cake Thief

Late at night,
the cake thief comes
when everyone is
fast asleep.

 

He leaves behind
nothing but crumbs
then off to bed
he softly creeps.

 

Although I have
not caught him yet,
it is our cat;
of that I'm sure.

 

'cause only
our fat, family pet
leaves muddy paw
prints on the floor.
