You've bought a dog I hear you say

The time was right for work and play

You seem so tired when you get home

And you leave your new dog all alone

A front door you left open wide

Your dog takes off and runs outside

Out in the road a car he struck

He ended up beneath a truck

You mourn his loss until today

I wrote this poem to highlight the plight of dogs bought by people who neglect their pets.

Can't agree with you more Edward. My father taught us that a dog can't speak so if you forget his water or food he cannot complain he will suffer and it's hell to pay. It is good for you to make people aware and I feel some people should actually be forbidden to own pets.
