A Logical Fallacy Of The Opponents Of Gun Control

Many of those americans who are anti- gun control say,
"You cannot have gun control in America because gun control of any kind would be an infringement upon the rights of Americans to bear arms and the 2nd ammendment clearly states the right of people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed".
But that is wrong.
If Americans still maintain the right to own handguns then they still have the right to bear arms and so removing access to any other kind of firearm, for example the AR15 assault rifle, would in no way infringe upon their right to bear arms.

 

For example-

Right wing nut: You can't take away my grenade launcher because you're infringing upon my right to bear arms.

Gun-controller: No I'm not. Handguns are arms and you can still bear them therefore you still have the right to bear arms.
