On Having Been Found

It was open season on me, thank God,
plucked from the non-purple patch
where I had been lurking (in plain sight).
How wonderful to be uplifted
from the native soil of habit,
to be consciously chosen
(like a bargain item in an aisle
of a supermarket? Maybe not), but
to have been sought out, somewhat.
What are the chances round about now
to have been weighed and not found
wanting.
At this time of life.
To be openly asked, required to attend
as VIP at your own, uncalled for
first night.
What is it like to recognise the full on want
from someone else, orbited around you,
so soonly perfected, on target,
undemanding and most requited,
bulls-eye right, unbelievable?
Wonderful.
