Sitting with me darling and a didgeridoo ,

we were singing to a possum and a kangaroo

a little country song with a twangy kind of style ,

with a little diddle daddle and a diddle daddle do .

Where the River Murray flows

through the valleys in between ,

from Mount Kosciusko to the Murrumbidgee stream ,

for 1500 miles to the Southern Ocean it goes ,

saddled to the landscape where the River Murray flows .

We drank a mug of billy tea

around the campfire glow ,

as the shooting stars up the sky

put on a picture show ,

I took out my old fiddle and me darling began to smile

with a fiddle diddle daddle and a faddle daddle oh .

I held my Darling close  . with a blanket made for two ,

and I looked into her eyes as we smiled as if we knew,

the feeling that you get , that makes everything worthwhile  ,

with a little yodel dodle and an odle dodle do
