Out of a lump of clay

I have been telling babies their manuscripts

Will often be turned down without the first line being read

And it’s hard, watching the babies comprehend this

But it will do them good in the long term.

I’ve not mentioned the concept of love

To any of these babies yet but I will. I’ll say

It’s like an actor choosing to keep the accent of their character

Even when they’re not on set. You know it’s them, deep down,

But it’s not them really. I’ve already explained to the babies

That the characters on TV don’t care about you.

They’re already thinking about their next project.
