Strangers on a Train

We were strangers on a train
I fell in love, with your brain
The times cross word you always solved
Never anyone else involved
I talked to you only when
You finally put down your pen
And fold your paper really neatly
Finally, you had time to greet me.
‘Hello,’ was all I could muster
‘You’re married’ my heart was a flutter
‘I’m divorced!’ I looked down at my ring
‘Just haven’t taken off the bling’
Just before she replied
The conductor’s voice amplified
Told us that ‘the line was blocked
And until cleared the train was stopped!’
‘Twice this week the trains been late
Let us think of it as our first date’
I said to the blond bombshell
She said nothing. Silence fell.
‘It's not that I’m not interested
It’s just your not my type to bed
For I am gay without a doubt
Something I don’t tend to shout
‘I had no idea, I’m so sorry’
‘Not many do, please don’t worry!’
The train suddenly started moving
Not soon enough my face was proving
We were once strangers on a train
Out of the blue a friendship became.
