Sincerity, great

dedications at spate

knowledge, beyond debate

skill , none dare bet

discipline as his trait

to NALCo, an architect

diminutive and specked,

a manger, the awesome,

guru and gide to some,

terror to work errant,

confidence to management,

task master, hard core

Maharana babu is no more.”

drew silent sighs of grief,

intermittently with sighs of relief,

from all, his friends and foes

and everyone, him who knows,

may be from boiler and turbine

as for decades, he was their lifeline.

Ornamented in an ICU

bade he all of us, adieu

ending his role glorious

at a time , auspicious

silently as always

with thin smile and innocent gaze

at the moment meant for Lord

to descend from His divine abode

to Incarnate on the earth in person

as the Lord of Maharna’s profession.

Just two days’ earlier

for his technocrat brother

celebration was on

throughout the nation.

as Engineers’ day

gratitude to pay,

to engineers’ fraternity

for aiding human prosperity.

All these have indication

on his soul’s next destination.

Over it any doubt

incidents all flout

to yell aloud

making us proud

“It is not mere a coincidence

but the recognition by providence.”

Recognition to a deserving man

as per His heavenly master plan

to take a divine soul to his abode

“ Pray we that, from our heart Hey Lord.”

 

Hey colleague dear

our hearts you tear

recalling your life,

your sufferings and strife.

The dust noise heat and height

fume, humidity, day and night

beyond the Creator’s set limit

for His creation you endured it.

For congenial work environment

needs it high managerial talent.

and to rise to meet the demand

of the technology of foreign land

round the clock for years

to health and heart it piers.

telling upon him at future

that you did bear

With inadequacy of security

as financial sustainability

more so for medical facility

hard hit to exist is a retiree

All that you endured with dignity

Bow you, we from your fraternity.

 

Being from the same Alma-mater

reveal here I without blur

Maharana babu as our senior

had exemplary character

known for his disciplined way

to emulate him was our try,.

Questions hence peeps in me

to analyze and see

where Maharana babu went wrong

or his past Prarabdha  was too strong

that he suffered so loom

losing his consort on His GJ day

vanity of healthcare failing on his way,

squeezed between limit and need

crushed he was, compared to his creed

He was a student brilliant

Did his choice go errant

in pursuing a career

to be an engineer?

Or to work in an industry

with less salary and security

exposing more to hazards

only to show Lord his trump cards?

(Bijay Kumar Maharana was born 1946 and departed us on 17^th September 2021 at 2.30 pm just when Lord Viswakarma was offered PUSPANJALIS everywhere. He was G M NALCO at the time of his retirement. He suffered for last ten years from physical ailments. Today It is 11^th day of his death rituals. Here is a humble attempt for a tribute dedicated to him.
